02 🌲 The Vibe

Teluk Batik Campsite is beach camping without the resort polish: a flat grassy strip at the far end of Lumut's most popular public beach, with the sea a short walk from the tent and the sand itself the main entertainment. Reviewers describe a site that is well maintained and clean, with plug points, running water and surprisingly tidy public toilets, popular with group camps and uniformed clubs. The catch is written all over the reviews: bold, food-raid monkeys (14 mentions), weekend crowds from the public beach, and late-night motorbikes on the sand. Midweek, reviewers say, it is quiet — two to four tents and the whole beach to yourself.

03 🚗 Getting There

The campsite sits at the end of Pantai Teluk Batik, the well-known public beach of Lumut, Perak (plus code 5JP5+V4, 32200 Lumut) — roughly 10 minutes from Lumut town, about 1-1.5 hours from Ipoh, and around 3 hours from KL via the North-South Highway (Lumut/Ayer Tawar exit). Beach entry is via a paid parking lot, and reviewers note a fee to drive in. The main access road is sealed; the grassy strip near the horse paddock is soft sand, so reviewers advise against taking non-4WD cars onto that section.

Reviewers mention a charge to enter the beach area with a car. The sandy strip beside the paddock is 4WD territory — park on the hard ground and carry your kit to a grassy pitch. Midweek is noticeably quieter than weekends.

04 🛏️ Staying at Teluk Batik

Staying is BYO and simple: bring your own tent and claim a grassy spot, powered or not. Older reviews report RM40/night for a non-powered tent/car; a 2025 review mentions RM100, and the Google Maps listing lists an RV electric hookup — so confirm the current rate on arrival. Walk-ins happen, but reviewers warn that weekends fill up and you risk being turned away.

  • BYO tent site (non-powered) - RM40/night in older reviews — grassy shaded spots, some near the paddock; 4WD advised for the sandy strip.
  • Powered sites / RV hookup - Plug points at sites and RV electric hookup per the listing — confirm the powered rate on site.
  • Walk-in or call to book - Reviewers say you can show up without a booking but risk a full site; some mention calling to book.
⛺ Camping & policies — no official rate sheet on Google Maps: camper-reported RM40/night (non-powered tent/car) with a more recent review at RM100. Beach parking is charged. Booking is walk-in or by phone per reviewers; weekends fill up fast. The site has plug points, running water and clean public toilets.

★★★★★

"Booked campsite for 1 nite and end up staying 3 nites. Its on a Tuesday so not crowded, theres only 2-4 tents here. Its at the end of a public beach so theres facilities like toilet/shower, stalls selling food etc. There also Grab delivery available. Theres 12 campsites with electric supply (Rm50 per nite) Without electric point is Rm40. The beach is very nice and the surrounding area well maintained by the local authority. Well lighted with spotlight and floodlights all nite long. Need to be aware of monkeys though. And the view of sunset is amazing. All in all a very nice place to camp."

★★★★★

"Was here for two nights. Everything was amazing. Would recommend other campers to come here. Everything was so perfect we have decided to come again next time. We had strong wind on the first night we were there. Public toilets are nearby and super clean. You will need to pay a small fee everytime you want to use the toilet during the day and it is only free after 7 pm for campers. Protips, go to Pasar awam Setiawan to get fresh and cheap seafood. Cook it fresh on your own."

★★★★☆

"Good place to camp. Power, water and toilet available. RM 40 per tent/car without power. Toilet are suprisingly clean. Beware of monkeys. The alpha male WILL go after you, so dont try to chase it. Speaking from my experience. Beach is okay."

★★★☆☆

"I am not a fan of a beach campsite. Just survey to see the view and atmosphere after 16 years leave this place. Ample park, for car and above there is a charge to enter. Same as Pantai Teluk Senangin, the is wild monkeys around, looking for food, this situation is a problem for visitor. Action should be taken for it."

- Google reviewer — location & setting
★★★☆☆

"This is a camping ground just by the beach. You will need to pay and i have attached the prices. There are plug points. There is toilets. You can come without booking but risk being booked. You can also call to book."

- Google reviewer — clean & practical

Google's rating spread (3.9★ / 125 reviews, checked 21 Aug 2026) is a realistic middle — this is a beloved budget beach spot with genuine friction. The highs are consistent: beachfront location, clean and well-maintained grounds, tidy public toilets, plug points and easy food (stalls plus Grab). The lows are just as consistent: bold monkeys raiding food, motorbike noise on the beach late at night, and grumbles about the beach area being commercialised. Quiet midweek, busy and loud on weekends.

08 🏕️ The Camp Tip

Our take on gear & planning
  • Monkeys are the real camp manager here. Fourteen reviews mention them and more than one warns the alpha male WILL go after unsecured food — seal the snacks in a Blackdog storage box before sunset.
  • The beach is a 30-second walk from the tent, so you'll be wet and sandy all day. The public showers rinse you off fine, but a Naturehike quick dry towel dries between swims and packs small.
  • Banana boat rides run off this beach on weekends. Salt spray gets everywhere — keep your phone in a Naturehike phone waterproof bag and shoot from the shore.
  • Midday sun on open sand is no joke. The camp grounds have shade trees, but a Mobi Garden tarp gives you a second shaded room for the picnic hours.
