Tok Bak Campsite

01 Quick Facts
02 🌲 The Vibe
Tok Bak is the kind of campsite that earns its 4.8 without flashy gimmicks — just a clear, cold river, a clean and tidy site, and wide flat grounds with enough shade for everyone. Reviewers repeat the same verdict across the board: the water is clear and refreshing, the toilets and showers are genuinely looked after, and it feels comfortable just pitching a tent and doing nothing. Family groups and colleague outings both show up in the reviews — the flat shaded pitches suit first-timers as much as regulars.
03 🚗 Getting There

06 💬 What Campers Are Saying
"Called Tok Bak to check if there was a lot still available for the next day and lucky enough there was! It was a beautiful site. We brought our dogs with us and luckily the available lot was the last plot along the river so we didn’t disturb the other campers with our dogs too much. The place also had a little path which led to a nice pool. The camping lots came with a water shower and pipe! There’s also two public toilets and a public shower! This is possibly the best campsite I’ve ever been to! However, just a little warning. There are lots of bush flies during the day,…"
"This was my very first time camping here, and it exceeded my expectations! The campsite is spacious, neat, and very clean. The restrooms are located close to the camping site, which is super convenient. There are also plenty of sinks available for washing up. Plug points are provided, with the power supply turning on starting at 8:00 PM. The access road to the campsite has been upgraded, so even normal sedan cars can easily drive in now! The best part is having the river right in front of your eyes with clear, cold, and refreshing water! There are deeper river sections like "Lubuk Buaya" for swimming, with extra carefully.…"
"My first camping experience and it turned out to be super awesome! The toilets were surprisingly clean! The camping areas also were clean. There were electricity sources provided until midnight, sinks for dishwashing purpose, ropes to hang your clothes, surau, etc. A really recommended place especially for newbies who prefer less hardcore camping style 👍🏻"
"Service is good, site is clean including the showers and the toilet. Pipe waters have strong current so please keep it down and save water! River is clear and clean, well done site manager"
"My 2nd time camping experience with my colleagues. The surrounding areas truly relaxing, refreshing with lush greenery & soothing sound of the streams. Some areas had relatively wide flat grounds with enough shades . The streams in front of the camp setting area were mostly shallow & quite safe for older children but there were at least 3 spots were dangerously deep..around 12ft. These spots mostly a bit farther, had warning sign post & suitable for fishing. The facilities provided was average. They had multiple toilets. There's a cafe or shop which opened at night .…"
Google's rating spread (4.8★ / 239 reviews, checked 21 Aug 2026) is unusually consistent: the dominant themes are the clear river, the clean campsite and the well-kept toilets. There is no recurring complaint thread in the top reviews — the only practical notes are strong pipe water pressure (keep taps low) and the fact that there is no published rate sheet, so you call to book.

08 🏕️ The Camp Tip
- The river bed is pebbly — wade with shoes on. The clear water is the main event, but stones underfoot get slippery; a pair of Naturehike wading shoes makes river baths comfortable for hours.
- The flat grounds are made for a proper tent. Wide shaded pitches mean you're not fighting roots and rocks — a Vidalido dome tent pitches clean and stands up to the river breeze.
- Sleep soft on the riverbank. Nights by the water cool down fast; an Blackdog air bed lifts you off the cold ground for a proper night's rest.
