🌌 Vibe
Quiet valley nights & stargazing — 'hilang for healing'

02 🌲 The Vibe

Lenggong Valley Campsite is the small, quiet end of Perak camping — a family-run valley site near Tasik Raban where the hospitality is the main attraction. Reviewers keep coming back to owner En Roslan's kindness (the most-repeated theme in the reviews), the free durian freshly collected around the area, and a picnic lawn they call a perfect stargazing spot. Stay options run from simple tent sites on wooden decks to rooms and wood chalets, with a man-made pool for cooling down. It is basic on purpose: limited electricity and slow internet, which fits the camp's own motto — 'hilang for healing' (disappear for healing).

03 🚗 Getting There

Lenggong sits north of Ipoh in the Lenggong Geopark valley — about 78 km and roughly 70 minutes by road. The campsite is up Jalan Empangan Air (the dam road) in Kampung Kuak, near Lata Papan and Tasik Raban, the lake that hosts the annual Lenggong Outdoor Festival. Parking is on site. From KL, budget around 3.5 hours via the North-South Highway to the Ipoh area, then north through Lenggong town.

The access road runs off the dam road above Lenggong town. Electricity at the site is limited and mobile internet is slow — reviewers say it fits the camp's 'hilang for healing' motto, so charge everything before you arrive.

04 🛏️ Staying at Lenggong Valley

Two ways to stay: BYO tent sites (RM50-150 per site per review) on raised wooden decks in the valley, or rooms and wood chalets (RM200-230) with breakfast provided by the owners. There's a man-made pool, clean toilets, a surau and a kitchen area — everything a quiet family retreat needs, without the frills.

  • Tent site (BYO tent) - RM50-150/site per review — deck pitches, quiet area, stargazing at night.
  • Room with toilet - RM200/night per review — the basic room option.
  • Wood chalet - RM230/night per review — breakfast provided by the owners.
⛺ Camping & policies — there's no official website yet, so booking runs through calling 011-6283 6770 (owner En Roslan). Electricity is limited and internet is slow; come prepared for an off-grid-style night.

05 🛠 Facilities

🍈 Free durian⛺ Tent sites🏡 Rooms & chalets🏊 Pool🕌 Surau🚻 Clean toilets🍳 Kitchen area🧺 Picnic area🌌 Stargazing

🍈 Free durian — reviewers mention eating free durian freshly collected around the area; Lenggong is durian country, so this is the real thing, not a marketing gimmick.

🛌 Stay options — tent sites on wooden decks, rooms with attached toilet (RM200) and wood chalets (RM230, breakfast included); chalet guests get a home-cooked start to the day.

🚻 Facilities & pool — clean toilets and bathrooms (called out by name in reviews), a surau, a kitchen area, a man-made pool for cooling down, and a picnic lawn that doubles as a perfect stargazing spot. Electricity on site is limited, so pack a camping light for the deck.

★★★★★

"During the Lenggong Outdoor Festival at Tasik Raban, my friends and I stayed at Lenggong Valley — they have both chalets and campsites for those who want to camp. We stayed in a chalet and loved that breakfast was provided by the owners, who cooked delicious local dishes. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, perfect for unplugging, though I had no mobile signal or Internet (Maxis user here 😅). On the downside, there’s only one narrow road in and out, with huge rocks and trees, making the journey to the chalet or campsite quite challenging by car. Overall, it was a unique experience — scenic, fun,…"

"My wife and I stayed in this place for 3 nights from original plan 1 night only! Why? Definitely, we enjoyed our stay here! The caretaker was so attentive, proactive and made sure we’re okay during our stay. Guess what? We were there during the durian season! We ate at least 20 durians totally and it’s free! On the last day, we met up with the owner who’s very jovial, full hospitality and easy going. Definitely we’ll be back here when we ride our bicycles in this area!"

"Awesome friendly host. Really appreciate the hospitality and gesture. Good luck for future expansion. Affordable price. Basic amneties. Limited electricity. Internet line a bit slow, it suits their motto 'hilang for healing". Hehe.. Can rent the tent site price rm50-150 per site. Also room wif toilet (RM200), wood chalet RM230.. Got surau & clean toilet as well. Got to eat free durian, freshly collected around the area."

"This is an unique campground where you can enjoy cooling stream, starry night, cloud carpet, durian all at once."

- Google reviewer — overall experience

Lenggong Valley Campsite carries a perfect 5.0★ across just 24 reviews — a small sample, but a genuinely clean one with no complaints trend at all. The repeated themes are the owner's hospitality (kind owner ×5), the chalets, the free durian, the clean toilets and the quiet area. The honest caveats: electricity is limited, internet is slow and amenities are basic — which the camp itself frames as the point ('hilang for healing'). Rates quoted in reviews are a couple of years old, so call to confirm.

08 🏕️ The Camp Tip

Our take on gear & planning
  • Stargazing is the evening programme — lie on something. Reviewers call the picnic area a perfect stargazing spot, and the valley sky is properly dark. A Mobi Garden picnic mat beats sitting on damp grass.
  • Free durian means sticky hands. Durian is collected fresh around the camp and eaten on site — a Naturehike quick dry towel sorts out the aftermath, and doubles for the pool cool-down.
  • Keep the drinks cold for the durian picnic. The free-durian sessions run long by the pool — a Blackdog cooler box keeps drinks chilled all afternoon.
  • Deck sites mean a gear walk. Pitches sit on raised wooden decks across the rocky valley floor — a Mobi Garden wagon saves the family back hauling coolers and chairs.
