02 🌲 The Vibe

Despite the "survival" name, D'Sahom is a laid-back riverside family camp — a Camping Ground where the river runs alongside the pitches, a 24-hour plugpoint sits at your spot, and the reviews keep coming back to the same three things: a very clean camp, a nice river view, and a friendly camp owner.

It is the kind of place that does the simple things properly — clean toilets, a good picnic area, clear river water and power at the pitch. Reviewers describe it as safe for picnics, relaxing and cool, and the family-camping crowd makes up the core of its guests. No glamping, no resort block — just honest riverside camping with a couple of genuinely rare conveniences.

03 🚗 Getting There

D'Sahom sits at Jalan Kg Sahom, Kampung Sahom — on the Gopeng–Gua Tempurung road in the same valley as Senho Outdoor Camping, roughly 40–45 minutes from Ipoh and a short drive from Gua Tempurung itself (plus code 96FJ+H9, 31850 Kampar). The access road is straightforward and parking is on site. From KL, it's about 2.5 hours via the North–South Highway, taking the Gopeng exit.

The camp is small and family-run, so phone ahead (013-689 3086) to confirm the site is open and the river level is friendly — reviewers consistently call the owner responsive and welcoming.

04 🛏️ Staying at D'Sahom

Staying at D'Sahom means BYO tent camping on riverside pitches — no glamping domes, no chalets. The two standouts reviewers keep mentioning: a 24-hour plugpoint at the pitch (bring an extension and your devices are sorted) and clean toilets. There is no public rate list on the Google listing, so call 013-689 3086 or message the Facebook page to confirm the fee for your tent and headcount.

  • BYO tent camping (per tent) - Riverside pitches with a 24-hour plugpoint at the spot — rate not published, confirm by call.
  • Picnic area - Reviewers flag a good, safe picnic area — the family-camping core of the site.
  • River access - Clear water for wading and cooling off; the river view is the site's most-praised feature.
⛺ Camping & booking — bookings are via the listed number 013-689 3086 or the camp's Facebook page (no public price list). Bring your own tent and gear; the 24-hour plugpoint means an extension cord is worth its weight. Confirm the fee, your headcount and river conditions when booking.

🔌 Power at the pitch— a 24-hour plugpoint is the site's rarest feature (mentioned in 3 reviews); pack an extension cord and you can charge, boil and light without a power bank.

🚻 Toilets & picnic— toilets come up as clean and plentiful, and the picnic area gets called good and safe for families.

🌊 River— clear water for wading and cooling off, with the river view the most repeated praise across reviews.

"Pengalaman menarik berkhemah 3 Hari 2 malam bersama keluarga. Pacak 5 khemah utk 18 pax.

"Booking last minute, so kita dapat tapak belakang, tapak B4. Okay not bad, tapi kalau dapat tapak depan lagi best..Betul2 depan sungai..Masa pergi memang ramai orang, yelah public kan, so tandas pun kena beratur sikit sebab terlalu crowded. Tapi kid friendly la, and kalau jalan atas sikit ada tempat mandi lawa. Tapak ni betul2 jiran White Stone Camp. • 💰 Satu tapak RM65 semalam • 🔌 Ada plug point 24 jam • 🧊 Ada kedai jual ais, air and macam-macam lagi ⭐ Rating: 4/5 Nice place, cuma agak crowded sikit especially tandas sebab tandas sikit hihi😉"

- Google reviewer — families & kids

Google's rating spread (4.7★ / 28 reviews, checked 21 Aug 2026) is consistently positive — every recurring topic reads as a strength: the river view, the 24-hour plugpoint, clean toilets, family camping and the friendly camp owner. It is a small sample and a small site, so there is little noise to sift; the caveats are practical ones — no published rate list (call to confirm) and no glamping-style shelter if the weather turns.

💡 The quotes and prices above are shared by campers on Google and reflect their stay at the time — rates, facilities and availability change. Always confirm current prices and availability directly with the campsite (call or official website) before booking.

08 🏕️ The Camp Tip

Our take on gear & planning
  • The 24-hour plugpoint is the rarest feature in Malaysian camping — use it. Power at the pitch means hot drinks on demand; a Cliton kettle turns that plugpoint into the camp's tea-and-coffee corner.
  • Morning coffee with the river view. The riverbank is the most-praised spot in the reviews — start it with a proper brew from a MHW-3BOMBER coffee set.
  • The river is clear and the family goes straight in. Kids wading means splashes everywhere — keep the phone safe in a Naturehike phone waterproof bag before anyone gets near the water.
  • Riverside pitches are sandy and rocky at the edge. A pair of Naturehike wading shoes makes the bank comfortable for everyone — especially the kids.
