02 🌲 The Vibe

Xscape Tambun is the glamping side of Sunway City Ipoh — a landscaped, shaded tent park right beside Lost World of Tambun, where the tents come with real beds, standing fans, water heaters and a cooking area, and breakfast is included. Reviewers describe it as "camping with nature, but in a luxury and glamorous style": the tents are clean, comfortable and spacious, the grounds are full of big shade trees with paved walking paths, and there's a pool for hot afternoons. It's a hit with families — kids love the buggy rides, segways, ebikes, caving and flying fox — and repeat guests name-drop the staff (Tini especially) for their friendliness. The catch, from the value crowd: some find the extra activities pricey, and the tent's air-conditioning reportedly costs extra per night.

03 🚗 Getting There

Xscape Tambun is inside Sunway City Ipoh at 383992, Persiaran Lagun (plus code J49X+M7, 31150 Ipoh, Perak) — literally next door to the Lost World of Tambun theme park and its hot springs, and about 15 minutes from Ipoh city centre. From KL it's roughly 2.5 hours via the North-South Highway (exit at Ipoh Selatan or Gopeng). Parking is available on site; the tent park is a short walk from the Lost World entrance, so you can combine a stay with a theme park day.

🚗 ~15 min from Ipoh city centre📍 J49X+M7, Sunway City Ipoh🎢 Next to Lost World of Tambun🅿 Parking on site

Because it sits inside Sunway City Ipoh, the access is easy and the surroundings are resort-polished rather than wild — this is glamping with a theme park next door, not a jungle retreat. Reviewers mention arriving early to enjoy the grounds and pool before the day-trip crowd.

04 🛏️ Staying at Xscape Tambun

One stay style, done properly: canvas glamping tents with real beds, a standing fan, water heater, cutlery and a designated cooking area, set on shaded concrete pads with a picnic table. Some tents come with a private toilet; others use shared facilities — reviewers note the toilet is outside the tent, so set expectations. Check-in is 3:00 pm, check-out 12:00 pm.

  • Canvas glamping tent - Real beds, standing fan, water heater, cutlery and a cooking area — reviewers call them clean, comfortable and spacious.

"Really enjoyed this stay - unique and different from the usual. And the kiddo got to half dip his toes into some outdoor living - wasn’t rough at all! I’ll definitely come stay here again and be a lot more prepared next time. Only thing is the owner could actually properly invest into industrial shared bbq stoves like what they have at condos - a few halal and non halal ones - and you are set. Imagine happy customers barbecuing all night. Just charge for the wood fire or charcoal. I’d even build a wood fire oven out here…would be totally cool.…"

"This is our fourth time here and everytime we have the same amazing experience. We travel with kids and they have so many oudoor activities for kids which kids enjoy. The staffs are friendly especially Tini who I must mention here. We've been dealing with her since our first visit. She's been very friendly, helpful and informative and goes extra mile to help with our needs here❤️🫰🏽"

"Love this glamping place. The tent and facilities provided is superb. Family people may have good time here with low issue from camp. Just spend a bit if need more games. Despite 5 star, i wish they improve breakfast service, dont be stingy la give one plate of nasi goreng and 1 piece of chicken like that the food delicious, people want more dont limit with small portion. 😟"

"booked 3 tents and satisfied with the cleanliness, comfort, & the spacious tents. loveee the scenery! this is camping with nature but in a luxury & glam style🤭"

★★★☆☆

"The tent is equipped with air conditioning and a fan. There is a nice path you can walk around to exercise. There are activities that you can try, such as ebiking, caving, and flying fox, which are overpriced. There is a pool that has leaves and dirt in it. The worst part is the toilet having to be outside the tent. When the tent is opened, it allows mosquitos to enter. The toilet is full of dead insects inside, which no one cleans. There is a cemetery close to its proximity...(Low-key scary!) This place is ok"

Google's rating spread (4.6★ / 164 reviews, checked 21 Aug 2026) is strongly positive. The recurring highs are the clean, comfortable, spacious tents, friendly staff, the kids' activities and the breakfast spread — with repeat guests and glowing family reviews. The caveats are practical: air-conditioning reportedly costs an extra ~RM80/night, some reviewers find the extra activities overpriced, and not every tent has a private toilet.

08 🏕️ The Camp Tip

Our take on gear & planning
  • Pool days with kids mean wet everything. A Naturehike quick dry towel dries fast between swims and packs small for the drive home.
  • The grounds are tree-lined and the paths get dark early. String lights only go so far — a Shinetrip camping light makes the night walk to the pool or the tent deck much easier.
  • Family tents have beds, but not always enough of them. A Blackdog air bed sorts out the extra sleeping spot for kids in seconds.
  • The grassy poolside is prime real estate. Claim a shaded spot early with a Mobi Garden picnic mat and the afternoon is sorted.
