02 🌲 The Vibe

Tok'Ba is the laid-back end of the Hulu Tamu valley — a riverside camping ground where the Sungai Tamu runs shallow and clear in front of every lot and the forest closes in around the trees. Reviewers keep coming back to the same words: pure chill vibes, spacious lots that all face the river, fruit trees around the site, and facilities that actually work — showers, toilets, surau and plug points. It's a family-first spot: the stream is knee-deep at its deepest, kids play in the water all day, and evenings wind down with a laid-back BBQ by the tent.

03 🚗 Getting There

Tok'Ba Campsite sits on Jalan Sungai Tamu, 44200 Batang Kali, Selangor (plus code FM8X+45), up in the Hulu Tamu valley — about an hour from KL via the LATAR Expressway (Batang Kali exit), then a short drive inland past orchards and villages. The access road is sealed and the site is well known locally; parking is on site. It's the same green valley as Hulu Tamu Eco Resort, further up the river from the busier Batang Kali–Genting side.

04 🛏️ Staying at Tok'Ba

Bring your own tent and pick a lot along the river — reviewers say every lot faces the water, with trees between pitches for shade and a sense of space. Facilities are the practical highlight: showers, toilets, a surau and plug points are on site, which is more than many river camps offer.

  • BYO tent lot - Spacious riverside lots, all facing the river — pick a spot under the trees.
  • Showers + toilets - Clean facilities on site, plus a surau — a real plus for a river camp.
  • Plug points - 24-hour plug points at the site, handy for lights, fans and phone charging.
⛺ Camping & policies — no public rate sheet; call 019-287 3590 to book and confirm pricing. Reviewers advise watching the weather: after heavy rain the ground turns muddy and the river runs stronger, so pitch high and keep gear off the bare ground.

"Just spent a weekend at Tok Ba Campsite in Batang Kali and it was pure chill vibes 🌳✨ This riverside spot is perfect for families, loads of open space, clean facilities (showers, toilets, surau, plug points included!), and laid-back BBQ pits ready for evening cookouts 🍖🔥 The river’s gentle flow made a great natural playground for kids, while us adults enjoyed the peaceful forest feels around camp . You can choose between standard or bigger riverside pitches, and even book a cozy chalet if you want that extra comfort . Booking was straightforward too just hit them up via phone or GoHub. ★★★★★

"A beautiful campsite with a clear, shallow stream. The site is surrounded by fruit trees and spread along the river bank. The stream goes up to knee level at its deepest, making it suitable for kids, but at the right side of the bridge, it is a bit more rocky"

- Google reviewer — families & kids
★★★★☆

"Nice place for camping. Sungai sesuai utk kanak2. Ada juga part yang dalam utk dewasa di bahagian hujung campsite. Campsite is spacious, lots of trees and all lot is facing river. Its just when raining, tent can get a litle bit dirty sbb tapak atas tanah. I think toilet is just average but clean. Maybe a bit crowded if too many people camping. Parking is limited have to adjust a bit. CO is very nice and friendly. He also sell cempedak for cheap price and even gave us free pulasan 5-6 pcs."

- Google reviewer — clean & practical
★★★★☆

"Good place, our family favorite campsite. RM45/tent/night. No time for check in and out unless yr area are booked from other campers. Suitable for kids to swim."

★★★☆☆

"Very basic Campsite, with Syabas Water and TNB. Ground is muddy and wet when rain, water dispersion is quite poor. Campsite at night is overly lit and quite bright. River is clean, turns chocolate and fast flowing when heavy rain."

- Google reviewer — clean & practical

Google's rating spread (4.5★ / 39 reviews, checked 21 Aug 2026) is positive across the board: the recurring praise is the river, the forest setting and the family-friendly shallow stream, with clean facilities and plug points called out again and again. The only practical caveats are the muddy ground after rain and the fact that there's no published rate sheet — you call to confirm.

08 🏕️ The Camp Tip

Our take on gear & planning
  • The river is the whole trip — keep the phone dry. Kids are in the water all day and parents are wading right behind them; a Naturehike phone waterproof bag means no soggy-pocket moments by the stream.
  • The stream is pebbly — especially past the bridge. Reviewers flag the rockier stretch on the right of the bridge; a pair of Naturehike wading shoes makes hours in the knee-deep water genuinely comfortable.
  • Lots face the river and cars park behind — that's a long carry. With spacious pitches, families haul gear across the grass; a Mobi Garden wagon gets the tent, cooler and kids' stuff down to the water in one trip.
  • Evenings here run on BBQ. The review that keeps coming back is laid-back BBQ by the tent under the trees; a Mobi Garden grill is all the cooking setup a riverside night needs.
