08 🏕️ The Camp Tip

Our take on gear & planning
  • Book early — weekends and school holidays sell out (recent reviews note Saturdays are 'full').
  • Do the river in the morning; access closes at night and the stairs down are steep — not ideal for elderly guests. Take an SUV or high-clearance car for the rough entrance track.
  • The river is the star here — Naturehike wading shoes for the rocky riverbed and tubing, a Ise Mount quick-dry towel for back-to-back swims, and a Naturehike waterproof phone bag if you're taking photos on the water.
  • Tents have AC, so evenings are for the riverside — a Blackdog camping fan is the one thing we'd still pack for those muggy nights before the rain comes through.
