Two ways to stay, plus day visits: glamping in pre-set riverside tents, or BYO tent camping on the pitches — and day camps with the BBQ drum are a reviewer favourite. Glamping units come with mattresses (some units are basic — a few reviewers note no in-tent fan or light), and the shared kitchen and toilets are described as clean and workable.

06 💬 What Campers Are Saying
"I enjoyed camping here. The people working in the campsite are helpful and friendly. River water is shallow which is perfect for me. Even my doggy will enjoy swimming in the river. Price per own tent tapak is very affordable and its very bright at night, safe to walk to the toilet area alone. The kedai runcit sells basic needs, very convenient. Lots of pretty plants and trees. Will definitely camp here again."
"A great camping spot for beginners because mobile data works great and accessible by Grab (in case you forgot to bring food or other stuffs can order conveniently). The place is gated, felt safe. The common areas (shared kitchen, toilets etc) are okay, not great but good enough for a night or two."
"I rented tapak only and pitched my own tent. They have beautiful ready made tents for singles, couples and families, complete with hammock, dining table, power points. Check out their website! Highly recommend. Beautiful, serene place. Will definitely come again"
"I had a 3 days 2 nights stay, Let's start with the good feedback First of all, I like their customer service on ws, really responsive and nice pdf with details , just that can add on details about bringing own drinking water and mention about service given about starting bbq fire for us. I also like when my car it's near the campsite. The tent was spacious and nice to sleep in. They have plug points with cooking materials and tables which makes it very convenient. Things to improve would be 1. Fan, very important, I believe that the fan given was a really cheap fan which loses battery quickly,…"
"A convenient location as it is only an hour away from Petaling Jaya. Lovely campgrounds and also pet friendly. Staff were attentive and helpful and on hand to assist and came to check every couple of hours or so which was nice. Just a couple of comments we hope Owner will take on board seriously and look into improving. The standard tents were lovely however we would recommend that a ground sheet be laid down beneath each tent as the dampness at the bottom is coming through the tent. We had to air the tent during the day as it was just damp. Also the air bed was way too soft. Sitting on it and you can feel the ground.…"
Google's rating spread (4.2★ / 251 reviews, checked 21 Aug 2026) skews positive with a realistic middle: the consistent highs are the glamping tents, the relaxing getaway vibe and clean toilets; the recurring caveats are mosquitoes and a muddy river after rain, plus occasional maintenance gripes (one tent under a fruit tree brought ants and flies). Solo campers and dog owners are disproportionately happy here.

08 🏕️ The Camp Tip
- The river is muddy — pack shoes you don't mind ruining. Reviewers are upfront that Sungai Makau runs murky after rain, so a pair of Naturehike wading shoes beats bare feet and saves your trainers.
- River days end wet — kids, dogs, everyone. A Naturehike quick dry towel dries in minutes and keeps the car seat dry on the drive back to KL.
- The site supplies the BBQ — you bring the meat. The BBQ drum, utensils and charcoal are all provided for day camps, so a Blackdog cooler box keeps the food and drinks cold from KL to Hulu Langat.
- Muddy feet are the #1 tent-killer here. 'Muddy river' and 'clean tents' show up side by side in the reviews — keep a Naturehike water bucket at the pitch to rinse off before you step inside.
