08 🏕️ The Camp Tip
- Start by 4am for the summit and be off the mountain before dark — the Pangsun line regularly takes 10+ hours and one reviewer clocked a 4am-7:30pm day. Not for beginners.
- Carry plenty of water and snacks, and hike in a group — sections can be confusing.
- A Shinetrip thermos of hot Milo at the summit is the classic Pangsun payoff, and a Wellhike sleeping bag makes the basecamp dorm night bearable — the mountain gets properly cold after midnight.
- If you're camping at basecamp the night before, a Cliton kettle and MHW-3BOMBER coffee gear turn the 4am start into something almost civilised.
