Glamping at Tambun Lost World

01 Quick Facts
02 🌲 The Vibe
Glamping at Tambun Lost World is the sleep-over side of the Lost World of Tambun theme park — glamping tents and floating villas set around a lake ringed by limestone hills, with the hot springs, spa and park rides a short buggy ride away. Reviewers describe it the same way every time: scenery that is fantastic, a peaceful and serene lake at night, and staff who go out of their way — En. Mat, En. Sham and the team get name-checked again and again. Glampers get well-maintained tents with proper beds and basic amenities; the floating villas are the upgrade with the best lake views.
03 🚗 Getting There
The glamping ground sits inside the Lost World of Tambun resort at 31400, Perak (plus code J5F5+53 Ulu Kinta, off the Ipoh-Lumut highway). It is about 10 minutes from Ipoh city centre and well signed once you're in the resort. Parking is at the resort car park, and buggy service gets you and your bags to the tent area. From KL, it's roughly 2.5 hours via the North-South Highway to the Tambun exit.
The GM address shows simply '31400, Perak' — follow signs for Lost World of Tambun and the glamping area is inside the resort grounds. Guests mention buggy transfers from the car park, handy when you arrive with a cooler and camping bags.
04 🛏️ Staying at Tambun Lost World
Two ways to stay: glamping tents with real beds and basic amenities, or floating villas on the lake. Reviewers call the tents well maintained and well equipped, with beds comfortable enough that toddlers sleep through. The floating villas are the premium pick — peaceful lake views, quiet mornings, and the same resort service. Both include access to the Lost World of Tambun park, which is the real draw for families.

06 💬 What Campers Are Saying
"We had an amazing time glamping, thanks to the wonderful hospitality from En. Mat, En. Sham, and the entire team. They truly deserve all the credit for making sure we were safe, comfortable, and well taken care of throughout our stay. We parked at Sunway Hotel and were escorted by the glamping team to the campsite, where they gave us a full tour and explained the itinerary in detail — such a thoughtful touch! You’ll have the entire campsite to yourself from 6 pm to 10 am, which makes the experience feel very private and special. After 10 am, the campsite opens to the public,…"
"We spent a night at the Glamping area at Tambun Lost World on last weekend. We love the scenic view around the camping zone. The tent is well maintained and it is well equipped with basic amenities. The bed is so comfy that our two-year old boy could sleep soundly through the night. The tent is set up by the water and more importantly, the camping area is surrounded by gorgeous and breathtaking limestone cliff. You would enjoy the natural sound in forest at night or at dawn. You can request for a transport in a golf buggy within the lost world after the closure of team park. All the staffs we have met are very friendly.…"
"The scenery is fantastic and conditions are great. The staff is excellent in dealing with customers and very attentive to our needs. Sham went out of his way to make sure we got everything we need and it was a pleasure to chat with Naim whilst having tea. The entire place is spotless and staying at the resort over night allows customers to see the amount of work that’s put in by these amazing people."
"Went for a staycation at floating villa to celebrate my eldest son’s birthday. The service we got from everyone at the hotel was superb. My sons were very happy cause all the abangs treat them like one of their own. The room was nice the view was amazing. And you get a personal buggy services everywhere. Good job to audi, alif and the gangs. Keep up the good work."
"We had a lovely stay over the recent Labour Day weekend at the floating villa. The view was very peaceful and serene..perfect for a quiet getaway! The floating villa was a unique experience, though it could use a few improvements for added comfort e.g. the outdoor carpet was very wet bcoz it rained and there weren’t enough floor mat/rugs provided to help keep the space dry and clean. Anyways, a big shoutout to Sham, Syakir, Shahdan, and Audi for being so friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. They really made us feel welcomed and well taken care of.…"
Google's rating spread (4.6★ / 34 reviews, checked 21 Aug 2026) skews strongly positive: the recurring highs are friendly, attentive staff (mentioned in 17 of 34 reviews), glamping stays, the lake scenery and the peaceful setting. The realistic caveats: some floating villa units are not as advertised — tired washrooms and dated fittings in the older rooms — and the resort pricing runs higher than a standalone campsite. Nobody complains about the service.

08 🏕️ The Camp Tip
- Kayaking day means your phone rides in a dry pouch. The lake is the whole point here — a Naturehike phone waterproof bag keeps it safe whether you're paddling or at the water park.
- Post-park towel is the pack list MVP. Hot springs, kayaking and the water park all end wet — a Naturehike quick dry towel is dry again before the next activity.
- Tambun nights are warm — bring airflow. The tents sleep well but the Perak heat doesn't switch off at sunset; a Naturehike camping fan makes a real difference in the tent.
- Claim a lake-side patch for sunset. The scenery is the most-praised thing in the reviews — a Mobi Garden picnic mat turns the grassy bank into a sunset spot.
