02 🌲 The Vibe

Treegrow Camp is a highland camping ground at ~1,200m elevation in Ringlet, Cameron Highlands — a flat white-stone field on the edge of a corn farm, with cool 18–24°C weather and starry night skies. Its toilets are famously excellent: 10 clean units with hot showers and even a hair dryer. Prices are official: RM70 per adult for a 6x8m lot (RM60 second night), with car camping and whole-camp venue hire available. The honest catches: daytime flies from the corn fields, fertilizer smell, very little shade, and windy nights — bring 30cm pegs and warm clothes.

  • Bring long pegs - Windy nights are common — 30cm pegs keep tents and flysheets grounded.
  • Go corn picking - Pluck fresh corn at RM5/ear; grade-A sweetcorn and cherry tomatoes can be ordered from the caretaker.
  • Pack for cold - Night temps drop to ~18°C — warm sleeping bags and layers are essential.
Daytime flies come from the surrounding corn farms but mostly disappear by evening. Bring a fly trap if you are sensitive, and enjoy the starry sky after dark.

"Good location with a beautiful view, especially for relaxing and enjoying the scenery. However, the campsite lacks trees and a nearby river, so there’s very little shade. It can get quite hot during the day—even for Cameron Highlands—which makes it less comfortable for camping. Overall, nice spot for the view, but could be improved with more natural cover."

"They have one of the best facilities ever ever. Super clean toilet, long stretch of wash basin, water heater, hair dryer, fridge and very helpful and friendly service crew dropping by every morning to clean their facilities and camping ground. Night view was awesome and starry night photos can easily be taken using your phone. The smell of pesticide and “flies” were bearable once you “get used” to it as the camp site is next to their corn field, nothing to be worried about, all flies would be gone by evening. Quite windy at night, remember to use 30cm peg to make sure your tent or flysheet don’t fly away. Although wild cats were causing issues at site but owner very responsive and took action swiftly. Highly recommended campsite if you’re planning to camp at Cameron Highlands!"

"Very cold & relaxing place. Amenities are well maintained. Can experience plucking your own corn from the farm at RM5 each ear. Had an awesome time here! 2 things that you will need to be able to tolerate:- 1. Flies. Tons of them due to natural fertiliser used in the corn farm. 2. The smell of the natural fertiliser. Other than that, bring sufficient warm clothing as it gets very cold a night."

Treegrow Camp sits at ~1,200m in Ringlet, Cameron Highlands — an open white-stone camping field beside a working corn farm, with cool highland air and brilliant night skies. What makes it stand out is the facilities: 10 spotless toilet-and-bathroom units with hot showers and a hair dryer, plus a shared fridge, prayer room and washing area. Official rates run RM70 per adult for a 6x8m lot (RM60 the second night), with car-camping lots and whole-camp venue hire also available.
