02 🌲 The Vibe

SEM Campsite is a small island campsite on Lang Tengah, Terengganu — raised wooden platforms in pre-set tents right on a stunning beachfront between Redang and Perhentian. Official rates: platform RM27/night (normal), RM43 seaview, RM67 rooftop; guest fee RM49 adult / RM34 child; return boat RM170/130. Tents, foam mattresses, kitchen gear, snorkel and kayaks are all provided, with 24h electric and good 4G on every platform. The caretaker Pakcik Shamsol gets praised in almost every review. The honest catches: remote boat-only access (weather-dependent, no monsoon service Nov–Feb), you must bring your own food and water, and facilities are shared and basic.

03 🚗 Getting There

Getting there — Fly to Sultan Mahmud Airport (Kuala Terengganu), then ~30 min taxi/shuttle to Merang Jetty and a 30-45 min speedboat to Lang Tengah Island. Register at the jetty by 9:30 AM for the 10:00 AM departure; return boat leaves the campsite at noon. Services pause during monsoon season (Nov-Feb).

★★★★★

"Top notch service from the crew - skillful boatman and helpful 'duty manager', Pakcik Shamsul. 2 kitchen area, 3 units of washroom and dining area at the campsite. Our 3 nights stay 19-22/10/25 here at R3, sunny and breeze wind. Enjoy the awesome seaview and snorkelling just in front spotting variety of fishes (sardines and baby sharks)."
