Check the Hydrostatic Head (HH): Don't just trust marketing words. Look for tents with an outer layer rating of PU3000mm or higher (like Naturehike's or Blackdog's rain-proof models). This means it can withstand a 3-meter water column\u2014perfect for Malaysia's sudden downpours.
The Groundsheet is Non-Negotiable: Ground moisture and puddles will seep through the tent floor over time. Always lay down a dedicated waterproof groundsheet under your tent.
