02 🌲 The Vibe

Small, tidy and warmly run — the kind of kampung campsite where the host brings you mats and hands over freshly cut fruit.

Family-first: the kids' pool, playground and fishing corner mean the children are sorted while adults relax by the water.

Quiet and uncrowded — one reviewer had the whole place to themselves for most of a stay.

A resort-lite camping feel: clean toilets and paved pads, but still very much the countryside with geese, chickens and veg plots around.

04 🛏️ Staying at Labong Campsite

Labong is a small, spotlessly kept family-run campsite where a huge swimming pool, clean toilets and a playground make it more resort-lite than rough bush camp. The uncle-host hands you rubber mats for the paved tent pads, shares fruit from the plot, and will even move you into a dry chalet when the rain starts.

  • Pick your tapak, book by name - Plots are numbered (C2, C3, C8…) and 5m x 5m each — Daphne reserves specific ones over WhatsApp. Big flysheets (e.g. 5.5m x 4.4m) need a second plot, which she'll hold for you.
  • Pool first, camp later - Two pools — a large shallow one built for kids and a bigger one for adults — are the camp's showpiece. Reviewers called the pools alone reason enough to come, especially in scorching weather.
  • Rain plan: the chalet card - A leaking flysheet in the rain is the one recurring complaint. The camp responds fast: upgrade to a cosy standalone chalet with shower, toilet and balcony, and you sleep dry.

Booking & packing tips
  • Book via WhatsApp +60 12-727 1545 (ask for Daphne) — there's no website or booking platform.
  • Tell her your tent's footprint: tapaks are only 5m x 5m, so a big tent needs two plots.
  • Bring a waterproof flysheet/groundsheet — one review hit a leaky flysheet in the rain.
  • Pack swim gear: the kids' pool and adult pool are the main events.
  • Cash for the chalet upgrade and any extras; host shares fruits & veggies from the plot.

🏕️ Numbered tapak plots — Camping is on numbered 5m x 5m plots (C2, C3, C8…) on paved paths and rock platforms. The uncle hands out rubber mats so tents stay clean and mud-free even after rain.

🏊 Two swimming pools — A huge children's play pool plus a bigger adult pool — both described as spacious and clean. 'The pool itself I believe is a good enough reason to camp here,' one reviewer wrote.

🚿 Toilets & showers — Public toilets and showers that reviewers rate 'superb', 'super duper clean' — one said a single toilet 'can fit a whole family inside'. There's also a separate dish-washing area.

🧒 Playground & farmyard — A kids' play area, big grass section, geese and chickens roaming around, and fishing activities for children — plenty to keep little ones busy.

🛏️ Standalone chalets — Small cosy chalets with shower, toilet and a balcony in front of the door. Handy as a dry upgrade mid-stay or if you'd rather not pitch at all.

"My daughter and I wanted to camp a bit during the last school vacation so we booked a place nearby and off we went for our trip. Sadly the first camp was not that great so the second morning the search started and I found this camp online. A bit of a drive from where we were but we decided why not. It was the week after CNY. We got there to and was the only people at the campsite ( later 1 more couple came. We were amazed at how novice it was here. Toilets was superb and very clean and well maintained. Camp grounds was big and spacious. Were selected our spot and the uncle in charge brought us some mats to use under our tent. We set up as fast as possible and then we were into the pool they have. My daughter was so happy. After swimming we had showers and prepared for dinner. Started raining not too long after we ate and we loved I to the tent only to realise after 15 minutes that we have a water problem. our bedding and every thing got wet due to leaking flysheet of the tent. I messaged the camp people and asked if we could upgrade to a small stand alone chalet they have. They were quick to respond and payment was fine and we moved. Really nice cozy little chalet with a shower and toilet and a small balcony area in front of the door. Had a good night of dry sleep there and just in general had a good time there. The camp itself has a few different types of sites to choose from. All very clean and well maintained. There are some fruits and vegetables growing around that was generously shared by the uncle there. The camping areas has paved pathways and rocks where you setup your tent ( hence the rubber matts the uncle gave us ) so you don't have mud around after the rain. The pool itself I believe is a good enough reason to camp here. Nice spacious clean. There is a separate wash up are for dished. A play area for young kids. A big grass section. Some geese and chickens were also around. All in all a very nice camp and for sure a place we will camp at again."
