The camp sits on a hillside with river lots below and forest lots above, connected by a crusher-run track that needs no 4x4.
The atmosphere is calm and dark at night — a proper nature escape with just enough facilities. The river is the centrepiece: shallow enough for children in parts, deep enough for a proper cool-down elsewhere, with fishing as a bonus. The owner briefs campers on arrival and keeps everything well organised.
It suits families, fishing fans and anyone who wants facilities without a resort feel — and durian season brings the best prices and fruit on site.
03 🚗 Getting There
Dinopium Hill Campground is at Kampung Lanar, Kampung Ulu Sungai, 27610 Raub, Pahang — a hill camp up from the Raub valley. From KL, take the Karak Highway to Bentong then the road to Raub (about 2 hours total). Previously the site needed a 4x4; the owner has since laid crusher-run road, so normal cars can now make it up. The phone line is 011-2755 6020.
The road was upgraded to crusher-run — a normal sedan can now reach the camp (previously 4x4 only).

"Relatively new campsite. It’s very clean and well managed. Previously only accessible with 4x4, now, the CO has invested quite a bit to lay crusher stones to make it more accessible to most vehicles. Good campsite with power point. Can fish on the raft. River’s deep enough to swim in. What I like about this campsite is that it is shady throughout the day. Friendly and responsive CO. Lovely campsite. Will be back!"
