02 🌲 The Vibe

Campenture @ Kerling is a riverside tent-camping ground in Hulu Selangor, now also running as Duo Camp By The River. The crystal-clear Sg. Kerling flows right beside the sites for swimming, and the near-zero light pollution makes it a stargazing favourite. Beginners are welcome — tents, gear and even food ingredients can be rented or ordered on site. The catch: there is only one toilet and one washing basin (queues when busy), no power at tent spots (generator at basecamp only), and most Google reviews date from 2021–2022, so call ahead to confirm it is still operating.

03 🚗 Getting There

Getting there — ~40min-1hr15 from KL; tar road then rocky trunk road; normal sedan OK (no 4x4 needed); do NOT blindly follow Waze (it can route you off-road) - ask host for directions

04 🛏️ Staying at Campenture Kerling

Book direct: phone/WhatsApp +60 11-1627 3119 or Instagram @duocampbytheriver. Do not blindly follow Waze — ask the host for directions to avoid off-road routing.

  • Ask for directions - Waze can route you off-road; get the host's directions before driving in.
  • Rent everything on site - Tents, gear and food ingredients can all be rented or ordered — perfect for beginners.
  • Bring repellent - Mosquitoes and ants come out at night; insect repellent is essential.
The river is clean and great for a dip, but the site is hot by day with limited shade. Visit in the evening for the famous starry sky.

"I have been here twice with friends for the past three months, it is a great place to have a short getaway from the bustling city and embrace nature with friends to create unforgettable memories. The host responded to our requests attentionally and always welcome us as a friend. No doubt here will be one of my favourite campsites and I definitely will recommend it to anyone who loves to camp. Cheers!"

"A great weekend activity to be immersed in nature, even for beginners and first timers. You can rent camping essentials and even order ingredients from the organisers so you really just have to turn up at the campsite (only around 40mins from KL city). The team at Campenture are also very friendly and helpful which made our weekend so chilled and fun. Highlights at Campenture: stargazing, taking a bath in the river, clean toilets and the warmest team!"

★★★★★

"Fun, affordable, and extremely accommodating experience in KL! My friends and I went did a weekend camping with Campenture and it went so smoothly - I got my first ever good night of sleep outdoors ever (and I've gone camping a LOT in the past). I don't have any equipment and didn't want to do anything, which was perfect because Campenture can rent you anything and everything so we rented their tents, sleeping bags, BBQ pit, chairs, tables, etc etc. The location is close enough to the city so you only really have to drive a short distance away, while being far enough to feel like a good break from the concrete jungle. There's also no light pollution out there so you get suchhhhh nice views of the stars. +10000 points for functional toilets and being able to play in the natural river!"

Campenture @ Kerling is a riverside camping ground in Hulu Selangor (now also known as Duo Camp By The River), where the clear waters of Sg. Kerling run beside the tent sites. It is a favourite for stargazing — almost no light pollution — and for beginners, since tents, gear and even food ingredients can be rented or ordered on site. The grounds are clean and pet friendly, and a normal sedan can make the drive. It is a small operation, though: one toilet, no power at tent spots, and limited shade. With most Google reviews from 2021–2022, call +60 11-1627 3119 first to confirm it is still running before you go.
