01 Quick Facts
02 🌲 The Vibe
Slow beachfront living — waves, sea breeze and kampung quiet instead of city noise.
Sunrise camp: coffee in hand while the sun climbs over the South China Sea.
New-camp energy — spotless facilities and a host who runs it like a family business.
Close enough for a JB/Singapore weekend escape, far enough to feel properly away.
03 🚗 Getting There
Getting there — Beachfront, Lot 1309 Kampung Punggai, Pengerang. 22.8 km / 21 min from Bandar Penawar (Jalan Kg. Punggal–Desaru); 67 km / 59 min from Kota Tinggi (Route 92); ~90 km / 1 hr 16 min from Johor Bahru via Senai–Desaru E22 (toll)
Young site — thin shade, afternoon sun can be hot; Concrete lots (e.g. site 30) are hard to peg tent stakes into
04 🛏️ Staying at Ali Camp
Ali Camp is a brand-new beachfront campsite in quiet Kampung Punggai, Pengerang — pitch your tent on a numbered lot, wake to the sunrise over the South China Sea and fall asleep to waves instead of traffic. Opened around Q2 2026 and already a hit with JB campers, it's spotless, cheap and run by Bro Ali's family team.
- Pick your lot wisely - Seaview lots (RM60) get the breeze and the sunrise; non-seaview (RM50) are cheaper but warmer in the afternoon. Sites are 15 x 20 ft — plan your tent layout. Hammock fans: ask for lots 8, 9, 18, 19. Lot 30 is a concrete pad where the car parks beside the tent.
- Everything is new & clean - Six toilet-and-shower sets (all sit-down jamban) with strong SAJ water pressure, 24-hour electricity with plug points at the site, a surau, and sinks for washing up — rare for a camp this young.
- No cooking? No problem - Order food & drink and it comes straight to your tent, or fire up the BBQ area. You can rent camping gear on-site if you came light, or cook your own — washing sinks are provided.
Book direct with Bro Ali — call or WhatsApp 018-786 6323, or DM the Ali Camp Facebook page / TikTok @alicamp_. Weekends and public holidays fill up fast; the owner also runs live booking sessions. Bring: rock-solid tent pegs (some lots are concrete), a long extension cord, torch, power bank, and cash for the food delivery service. Check the weather — it's open beachfront, so peg everything down against the sea breeze.
